Preschool

We have four preschool/prekindergarten groups. The children in two of the preschool groups range in ages 3 to 4 years old. The other two groups consist of children ranging in ages 4 to 5 years old. Each group is not more than eighteen children. A lead teacher and assistant teacher or two co-teachers plan and implement an age appropriate curriculum that includes activities to enhance the development of cognitive skills, expansion of language and socialization skills as well as independent skills. We use the Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards to guide our curriculum in providing learning opportunities for physical health and motor development, social and emotional development, language development, literacy, cognitive development, mathematics, science, social studies and creative arts. Additional goals for these groups are to prepare the child for the kindergarten experience by challenging children to increase attention span; and acquire positive social skills such as giving, receiving, sharing, respect and communicating.
